Delete Your Account

In the app or on the web (fastest)

Sign in, open Account, and choose Delete my account. You will see exactly what is deleted and what must be kept before you confirm. Nothing happens until you type the confirmation word.

Without the app

You do not need to reinstall the app. Email privacy@consumingcarbon.com from the email address on your account with the subject line Account deletion request. We verify that the request comes from the account holder and process it the same way as an in-app request. We respond within 30 days, or within any shorter period required by applicable law.

What happens when you request deletion

1. Your sign-in is disabled immediately. You cannot sign back in.
2. Within 90 days, your name, email address, phone number, and other contact details are removed from our records.
3. If a legal retention obligation applies to your data, the request is recorded and the removal completes when that obligation ends. We do not claim data is deleted while it is retained.

If you change your mind, contact privacy@consumingcarbon.com before the 90-day removal completes.

If you are the only administrator of an organisation on Pamoja, transfer that role to someone else first — we cannot delete an account that would leave an organisation with no administrator, and we will tell you if that applies.

What we cannot delete, and why

Pamoja is a carbon registry platform. Some records are required for carbon accounting, regulatory compliance, and audit integrity, and blockchain anchors are permanent once written. We cannot delete:

• Historical carbon accounting records that must be retained under registry rules, verification standards, or applicable law.
• Immutable audit log entries and their corresponding Hedera anchors on the public ledger. Audit entries naming you are anonymised, not removed.
• Field evidence you captured, and its provenance attribution — this is registry evidence underpinning the validity of carbon credits.
• Consent records, retained for legal basis for 7 years.
